Canterbury Basketball Association fosters the growth, development and promotion of basketball in Canterbury.
Supporting over 5,000 people to play basketball in Christchurch, they run competitions for all ages, coach development courses, after school academies and school holiday programmes.

Canterbury Volleyball
Canterbury Volleyball Association brings a variety of volleyball opportunities to Canterbury.
They offer leagues to cater for primary, secondary, social, competitive and representative players, as well as coaching courses. Indoor volleyball clubs play throughout the winter from May through to September.

Artistic Swimming Canterbury offer artistic swimming sessions for recreational and competitive athletes of all ages and abilities in a friendly and supportive club environment.

Bug Sport CanterburyBugSports Club aims to promote, encourage and enable safe participation in BugPolo and River Bugging.
BugPolo is a game played during winter at an indoor swimming pool. Players sit in the River Bug and propel themselves with the fins on their feet. The game itself is a cross between netball and water polo.
River Bugging uses the Bug to ride white-water rivers. Bugs are ideal for negotiating rapids, surfing on standing waves or just sitting back and enjoying the scenery as you float by.
Canoe Polo MainlandCanoe Polo Mainland aims to promote and encourage all aspects of canoe polo locally in their club, region, in New Zealand, and internationally for the future of the sport and its participants.
Freediving CanterburyFreediving Canterbury are AIDA affiliated through Freediving New Zealand. Club members can compete at AIDA competitions and are eligible for national and international records. Freediving Canterbury train weekly at Graham Condon and offer a safe and welcoming environment for all freedivers, from beginners to advanced. They offer inductions every month for new members.
Freediving is the sport and practice of holding your breath (apnea) underwater. People freedive in the ocean, lakes, and swimming pools. Freedivers train to compete, dive for the fun of it, dive to catch fish (spearfishing), or dive to look around (snorkelling). Freediving can be physically challenging, meditative, or a mental battle.
People train in the pool for lots of reasons including for fun, for competition, to improve their spearfishing or deep freediving, or to be more confident when snorkelling, diving, or surfing.
Gymnastics OlympiaGymnastics Olympia offer classes designed to encourage development in movement skills, while increasing agility, strength and flexibility. Brilliant for body awareness and self confidence, participants develop and enhance listening, thinking and social skills in a safe and fun environment.
Olympia offers classes for both boys and girls, from beginner athletes aged 2+ all the way through to international competitive athletes.
Korfball CanterburyKorfball New Zealand is on a mission to promote their sport to as many New Zealanders as possible.
Korfball has many outstanding qualities that make it a perfect team sport: its rules strongly emphasize co-operation and all-round skills, it combines physical and strategic challenges, and it is a unique sporting forum that brings the genders together on equal terms.
Korfball is simple to learn, yet has been one of the most innovative and progressive sports since its earliest days.
Roller Derby Dead End DerbyRoller Derby Dead End Derby offers squads for adults and kids over 8 years old, as well as a Skate 101 programme for beginners to learn the game.
Roller derby is a unique and exhilarating sport played by two teams, each consisting of five skaters. The objective is for a designated skater, known as the "jammer," to score points by lapping members of the opposing team while the other skaters, known as "blockers," work to hinder their progress.
Roller derby is a full-contact sport, physical contact and blocking are an integral part of the game. Skaters use their bodies, shoulders, and hips to strategically maneuver and impede the opposing team's jammer while helping their own jammer break through the pack.
Special Olympics CanterburySpecial Olympics Canterbury provides sporting and social opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. They provide both training and competition up to international level for almost 300 athlete’s in over 10 different sports.
Surf Lifesaving CanterburySurf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is the leading beach and coastal safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority in Aotearoa. They are truly unique, delivering proactive lifeguarding and essential emergency rescue services, a range of public education beach safety programmes, member education, training and development, as well as a highly respected sport.
SLSNZ is the national association representing 74 surf lifesaving clubs with 18,000+ members, including more than 4,500 volunteer Surf Lifeguards.

Underwater Hockey ChristchurchUnderwater Hockey is a great sport if you love to swim, and since you play on the bottom of the pool it is a great team sport too. Two teams of six players use small sticks to push a puck into the opposition’s goal bin.
Christchurch Underwater Hockey is open to players of all levels, with both beginner and experienced leagues.

Ngā Puna Wai
Ngā Puna Wai is Christchurch's new sporting home for Canterbury athletics, hockey, tennis and rugby league.
Ngā Puna Wai features an athletics track and field, hockey pitches, rugby league fields, tennis courts, a centralised sports hub, boulevard and two grass multi-purpose community fields.
Everyone is welcome to come and use Ngā Puna Wai, take part in sports, support the players or use the sporting fields.
